What to Expect from Group Classes at Primitive x Swole AF

September 16, 20256 min read

When it comes to group training at Primitive x Swole AF, we take pride in the community we’ve built. Group training is one of the best tools for people getting started in the gym, as well as for those who thrive on accountability and shared energy. You do not need experience to jump into a class here. You just need a willingness to show up. Our coaches work hard to create an environment where anyone can feel comfortable and encouraged, no matter where they are starting from.

Our main goal is to help you build a strong foundation. Yes, we want you to get physically stronger, but we also care about your confidence, your mindset, and your ability to carry what you learn here into the rest of your life. We see group classes as a launchpad for that.

The Space

Our group gym is located just 30 yards from our private facility, in the same plaza. It’s fully equipped with squat racks, benches, free weights, sleds, rowers, and a 30-foot turf strip that runs straight down the middle. This space was designed with group training in mind. Every detail, from the equipment to the layout, is there to support movement, strength, and variety.

We run classes five days a week with five to seven sessions per day. Morning options include 5:00, 6:00, and 9:00 a.m. Evening sessions run at 3:30, 4:30, 6:00, and 7:00 p.m. Our Saturday events vary and might include a HYROX Simulation or a sports day like flag football. Class sizes stay around 10 to 15 people to keep things focused and safe.

Each workout is a one-hour circuit that blends functional fitness and strength training. You will lift heavy for your level and work at a pace that challenges you without pushing you into burnout. We post the weekly class schedule in advance so you can plan ahead and make it part of your routine.

What the Coaches Bring

Our coaches are all different, and that is a good thing. We know not every coach will be the perfect fit for every athlete. That is why we provide detailed bios on who they are and how they coach, so you can find the right vibe for you. What they all share is a commitment to showing up for our members with energy, structure, and support.

Trying a class for the first time can feel intimidating. You might not know anyone, and the workout itself might feel unfamiliar. That is normal. Everyone starts somewhere, and the hardest part really is showing up. Once you are in the room, our coaches will walk you through everything, answer your questions, and guide you through every rep. Whether it is Nathaniel, Daniel, Adan, or Fernando leading class, you will know that you are in good hands.

What Our Members Say

The best proof of our culture is our people. Maida, one of our members, said it best:
“I’ve created a group of friends that I didn’t have before. They motivate me and aren’t mean about anything. They’re like, ‘Yeah, you can do it. We got this.’”

Nina shared that she used to feel lonely going to gyms.
“At Primitive Movement, I’ve found a supportive community and a place where I don’t feel isolated. Fitness has become a part of my life flow—something that matches who I am and sticks with me.”

Jason echoed that same sentiment.
“I came here looking for a workout. What I found was a mindset shift, a lifestyle, and a community that keeps me going.”

These experiences are not the exception. They are the foundation of what we are trying to build here. Whether your goal is weight loss, strength, confidence, or simply a healthier daily rhythm, group training gives you the tools and the people to support that journey.

Community Over Competition

We believe that group training works because it removes the guesswork. You do not have to plan your own workout. You do not have to train alone. You do not have to be the most advanced person in the room to belong here. The structure is already built, and the people around you are here for the same reason you are—to get better and feel better.

This is where we see the biggest changes happen. People stop dreading workouts. They start looking forward to class. They make friends, build routines, and grow into versions of themselves they did not think were possible before. It is not about becoming someone else. It is about becoming more of who you already are.

FAQs

Q: I’ve never taken a group fitness class before. What should I expect?
You can expect a coach-led session that is fully guided from start to finish. Every movement is explained and modified to match your level. The people in class are just like you, and most of them started without any experience too.

Q: Do I need to sign up ahead of time?
Yes, we recommend reserving your spot online before class. We have class size limits to ensure everyone gets the space and attention they need, and it lets your coach plan accordingly.

Q: What if I can’t keep up with the group?
That is completely okay. Every workout is scalable, and our coaches are trained to give you options that match your fitness level. You do not need to "keep up" to belong here. You just need to show up.

Q: What should I bring to class?
Bring water, comfortable workout clothes, and shoes you can move in. Everything else is provided, including the equipment and the guidance.

Q: How are your classes different from other gyms?
We focus on strength, function, and community. Every coach brings something different, but they all care about your progress. Our members often tell us they joined for the workouts and stayed because it felt like family.
