8–10 min from Cypress · Straight down Knott St
11552 Knott St Suite 12, Garden Grove, CA 92841
Here's what most Cypress residents don't realize - Primitive Movement x Swole AF is a straight line south on Knott Street. No freeway merging, no navigating through unfamiliar neighborhoods. You get on Knott, you drive for eight minutes, and you're parked in front of a coaching-driven gym that's nothing like what's available on Katella or Valley View.
Cypress has gym options. Orangetheory on Katella runs solid heart-rate-zone classes. Chuze gives you 20,000 square feet of equipment for under ten bucks a month. BridgeLakes CrossFit has a loyal community. But none of them do what we do - structured progressive strength training combined with HYROX-style conditioning, programmed by certified coaches who adjust every workout to your level in real time. No heart rate monitors strapped to your chest. No complex Olympic lifts on your first day. No wandering a giant gym floor wondering what to do next. Just show up, get coached, get stronger. We even run our weekly Run Club at Cypress College Track, so we're literally already training in your city.
Via Knott Street (Fastest)
Head south on Knott St from anywhere in Cypress. No turns, no freeway. 8 minutes from Lincoln Ave, 10 from the Los Al border.
Via the 5 Freeway
Take the 5 south, exit at Knott or Valley View. 8–10 minutes depending on where you're starting in Cypress.
Via Katella Avenue
Head south from the Katella corridor past Cypress College, connect to Knott St. 10 minutes from the Orange Ave area.

If you've cycled through Cypress gym options and still haven't found the right fit, you're not alone. Most of our Cypress members tried at least two or three other spots before landing here. The issue isn't a lack of gyms - it's a lack of gyms that actually coach you through a program that progresses over time.
Progressive Programming, Not Random Workouts
Every week follows a structure. Three strength days with progressive overload, plus HYROX and conditioning sessions. Your weights increase, your volume builds, and you can see your progress because the program is designed to produce it - not just make you sweat.
We're Already in Cypress
Our Run Club meets weekly at Cypress College Track. We're not just claiming Cypress as a service area — we're actively showing up in your community. Several of our members from Cypress started at Run Club before joining the gym.
Coaching That Adjusts to You
Five certified coaches on staff - ACE and NASM certified - who walk the floor, correct form, and modify every exercise based on where you are. First-timers and experienced lifters work in the same class because the coaching adapts, not the other way around.
A Complete Fitness Ecosystem
Group training, one-on-one personal training, 24/7 private gym access, nutrition coaching, massage therapy, infrared sauna, and chiropractic care. Cypress residents get everything in one membership without juggling three different facilities.
This is a What Training Looks Like
Your training week is split with purpose. Three sessions focus on building raw strength - compound barbell movements, dumbbell accessory work, kettlebell loading, and resistance band mechanics. Every lift is programmed with progressive overload, which means your training variables (weight, reps, volume) increase systematically. You'll know you're getting stronger because the numbers prove it.
The other sessions are built around HYROX-style functional conditioning. Sled pushes, rowing sprints, SkiErg intervals, wall balls, farmer's carries - high-effort, low-complexity movements that build the kind of endurance and power that transfers beyond the gym. If you've trained at a CrossFit box before, think of this as the conditioning work without the high-skill barbell movements and competition pressure.
Classes are intentionally small. Our coaches don't demonstrate from the front and hope you follow along - they circulate, cue, correct, and push. You get individual feedback every session regardless of class size. That's the fundamental difference between what we offer and what a franchise format can deliver.

How close is Swole AF Gym to Cypress?
We're a straight shot down Knott Street — 8 to 10 minutes from most Cypress neighborhoods. If you're near Cypress College, Lincoln Avenue, or the Los Alamitos border, you're even closer. Our Run Club already meets weekly at Cypress College Track, so we're literally training in your city every week. Free parking is right outside our door.
How are your group classes different from CrossFit or Orangetheory in Cypress?
They're different training models entirely. CrossFit emphasizes high-skill Olympic lifting and competitive-style metcons — effective, but the learning curve can be steep and intimidating for newcomers. Orangetheory uses heart-rate-zone tracking with pre-designed workouts delivered the same way to everyone. We take a different approach: structured progressive strength training combined with functional HYROX conditioning, all coached and scaled to your individual level. No heart rate monitors required, no complex barbell movements on day one, and your program builds intentionally from week to week instead of feeling random.
What does a typical week of group training look like?
Three days focus on strength training with progressive overload — barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, and bands. The remaining sessions combine HYROX-style functional training with conditioning work like sled pushes, rowing, SkiErg intervals, and farmer's carries. Everything is coached and scalable. Your membership also includes 24/7 private gym access for solo training whenever you want, plus our weekly Run Club at Cypress College.

Eight minutes down Knott Street.
That's all that separates you from coached training, structured programming, and a community that doesn't let you quit.
First class is free.
